Nativity of Saint John
Today 24th of June we celebrate the nativity of Saint John the Baptist, the patron saint to whom our 17th century chapel is dedicated just a few days from the summer solstice 🌞
Symbols of Saint John are the primordial elements, the fire of summer and the water with which he baptized 💦
During the night we prepared the water of Saint John with flowers and herbs from the park, immersed in a basin of water and left out to the dew of the moon. 🌜
During the day it is tradition to open a bottle of ARZIMO Recioto di Soave for the mass which, unfortunately this year we will not be able to celebrate but we think that, however, we are ideally connected with the universe and certain traditions must be maintained.
The saying goes that 'On Saint John's day grapes become must' and the season is still long.
